I am defined by stories which look towards personal histories, cultural atmosphere, and poetic voice.  Years of experience in both commercial and avant-garde storytelling motivate me to create work that is both unpretentious and deeply curious.

Originally from the Central Coast of California, I moved to Minnesota for my undergraduate education in History and Studio Art at Saint Olaf College where I focused on oral history. Listening to a good story or capturing a poignant moment are distinct joys that continue to forefront my passion for process. After an accident on set in 2020 I became disabled. Despite my love of storytelling I found it extremely hard to have conversations about disability. I was afraid of others' reactions to my pain. This fear was inevitably affirmed when the communication of my circumstance was met with the inevitable attempted compliment “I wouldn’t know by the way you walk.” There’s an agreement in these words: it’s better if the story can stay silent.

I believe that through authentic and empathetic storytelling, I can do better than this, and I want to make films that show how. Films which look towards personal histories, cultural atmosphere, and poetic voice are central to my portfolio. With experience in both commercial and avant-garde storytelling I love challenging forms such as a documentary musical or a speculative atmospheric project: charting the world and coordinating bathrooms in the service of work that is brave and exciting.
